Hit the charles 4 times in the last week or so. Very slow sad to say. I say I fished 3-4 hours from shore total, rotating from one side of the cove to the other. By cresent st and south st in Waltham. Similar results at both locations. Senko still caught me 4 bass this last week or so,and getting a lot of action. Instant nibbles then nothing. Not sure if the sun fish are messing with me or not. My top water fishing has been hot 3 bass and a whole hell of a lot of action off of the rapala popper green yellow with black spots. Although I know the sun fish go after it cause I have actually hooked a couple i am having a blast. Still pulling the trigger to soon on some fish. They take to long to take the bait sometimes and i set to quick. Tonight I got a nice crappie at the cove near south st.on the popper(too dark for pic @ ONLY 730) Other than that all small 1-2 ponders no pigs or lunkers to report sad to say. I plan on hitting the charles in Watertown friday so until then keep fishing.

I have been resisting the baitcaster for years but today I bought a new one(daiwa 100tsh)($50)and went to Heards w/out a spinning reel. I gotta say I was impressed with myself only three bee's nests in an hour of fishing. Overall a good night. Even though I only got one fish. I had confidence with the baitcaster for the first time in my life. Don't get me wrong I've used them before but always resort back to my spinner.I do see the advantage and now feel comfortable enough to use the baitcaster as my main rig.
My catch of the night was off a classic senko but with a catch. The third bee's nest took me a while to untangle, when i did i jerked my line and there was larry.

This was my first trip out to Dug Pond in Natick. Another place i wouldn't have found even though close to my home w/out FishFinder. Many thanks. My main purpose here was to test out my new diawa baitcaster 100tsh. I gotta say for the short money ($50) A+. The twitchin bar is a great feature for worms. Anyways pulled in 2 decent fish, not too big but not too small in my 6-730pm trip tonight. Both on senkos 20-30 yards off shore.Spinners and top water seemed useless here. Good action going on there, fish jumping and a couple bites that i didn't capitalize on. Definatley worth the trip and i will be back. Easy access and parking makes it a great place for shore fishng.

Hit the spot tonight with my friend diditz. When we got there and someone was in our spot. We moved down the shore but we were not happy. I had no luck there for about 40 mins. Diditz snaged a small bass, niether one of us were thrilled. Then the guys in our spot left. We headed over and after about another 40 mins I had 2 and diditz got another. Finnaly i snagged the sally i was craving the last month. Got her on the spinner strike king chartuse in color. Deep and reeling fast. After that catch diditz and I switched spots and I nailed a pig of a larry. He was no doubt pissed..But I gotta say it was a great night for me. This larry was a true pig,he had another hook in his mouth when i pulled him in. It was a small hook maybe for live worms or shiners. Lucky Larry i Got both hooks out and set him free. Its getting dark early now we had a nice dark walk outta the woods.

Woke up early this morning 547am.
Got on the water @ 7am. Fished untill 1pm. It was cloudy until noon. No real hot spots. One and done all day. Managed 3 fish for the day. My friend also landed a nice chunker. All largemouth. We were seeking sally. Two of my fish were caught on Gary senko's and the other on a spinner bait on the drop. My buddys fish was landed with a senko. I would revisit this place again even though it was a slow day,the fish seem to be nice size.

Money spot again.6 fish a little over an hour all on a stike king spinner bait. I had Three nice larrys the fourth was slightly smaller. My buddy snagged 2 big boys too.Ilegal or not love this spot. I have had a lot of luck with the spinner this year. Letting it sit after casting then taking it in 10-15 feet. Drop and repeat.

Finally, got the boat out there tonight and did some damage from 6-8. Gary senko, different colors caught all 7 fish tonight between me and diditz. Five good size, and 2 dill pickles. The hot spot seems to be where the river flows into the pond. Tall grass lillys and we had our best fish there. I'm almost ashamed to admit this but.....I let one get away that would have been the larry of the night. My estimate 3-4 pounds at least. I got him all the way to the boat bent over the side to grab him and he took off under the boat, snapped my line(rookie mistake) that fat bastard skunked me! Tried top water jitter bug at the end of the night but had no action. Other than that a good trip, gonna move on from this spot and try somewhere else this week..but i 'll be back for the one that got away.

Headed back down to heards pond in sudbury tonight a little early. 5-8 tonight instead of 6-8. First off I am fishing this spot so often because its 8 miles from my house and a good place for me hit after work. Thanks to MAFISHFINDER and MEAT'S trip to opening my eyes to a local basshole. No action tonight from 5-630. 630-7 is when the bass seem to head into shore here. I have yet to take the canoe out there, but very eager too. 6 bass all small guys but i had some fun. The best news to report is that i found some bug spray that is workng.i took a pic of my 25% deet off spray if anyone else is having my problem this year i reccomend this repelent because it has worked the best to date .no bug bites tonight! Two other tid bits I'll add. One the park ranger is a regular down here. Saw him again tonight,so if you don t have a license i wouldn't bother heading down. Two,there is an old guy down there who drives a ford ranger and will talk your ear off! The first few times i wasn't bothered but its getting old unless you want to tell and hear life stories...........this guy followed me even all the way down to my truck and even after i started the motor and starting driving he was still talking. Nice guy, harmless i'm sure but enough is enough i wanna relax and fish.

we tried to hit up our lincoln spot but someone beat us to the punch so we hit heards pond again. I gotta say the most consistant thing at heards the last week has been the bugs! My friend and i got down there and the bug spray was empty. we lasted 45 minutes tops. I got one dink bass on a senko. I'm investing in deet and if possible long sleeves and jeans will be worn, next trip there. dont say i didn't worn you. came home to watch the sox.........there not doing so well at this point hence the trip writing.........till next time.

PLANED ON HAVING A LONG FISHING OUTING TONIGHT....DUE TO A LONG DAY AT WORK AND THE HEAT KILLING MY MOTIVATION I HEADED OUT LATE TONIGHT. DIDNT GET OUT TO THE POND UNTIL 7 TONIGHT. WHEN I GOT THERE , SEVERAL PEOPLE WERE FISHING THE SHORE. ONE GUY COMENTED THAT "THE FISH AN'T BITING" GOT TO SHOW HIM UP ON MY THIRD CAST WITH A LARRY,FOLLOWED BY ANOTHER 5 MINUTES LATER. BOTH ON A GREEN GARY SENKO WITH PURPLE MULTI COLORED SPARKELS. THE SECOND GUY GOT THE BAIT MANGLED SO I SWITCHED TOO A LUNKER CITY SLUGO..............NO LUCK THERE,SO I SWITCHED BACK TO THE GREEN AND BANGED ANOTHER ONE. TRIED THE TOP WATER FOR A MINUTE LITERALY AND HAD NO BITES. THE BUG WERE KILLER TONIGHT I COUNTED 6 BUG BITES. SO LETS REVIEW 3 LARRYS AND 6 BUG BITES.....2 BITES FOR EVERY FISH...FAIR TRADE FOR ME. DEPARTED AT 8PM PROMPT. ON ANOTHER NOTE GIRLFRIEND CAUGHT 2 SUNFISH ON A ROOSER TAIL IN THREE CASTS. SHE REPORTED NO BUG BITES
