Spy Pond Success

Went out at dawn to try to hit the fish early. Caught two bass and a really nice White Perch around the island. The bass were average size but the White Perch was 10-14". Small rapalla work really well.

Comments

  • yeah they spray late summer i think. bigtime algae blooms too.

yes to the jerkbait. there are some pretty nice dropoffs and some shallower water a shallow jerkbait would be good in. i'd suggest a yellow perch pattern.

  • Is the water clear enough to throw a jerkbait there?

  • No way Spy is as good a fishery as Mystic lakes

  • You're probably right Sam. I didn't go there at all last year.

  • I think they spray the weeds twice a year. First is about 1st June and another in the late summer?

  • When I've been there it was post weed kill so it was relatively clear. Maybe 5-8' of visibility. It looked brown because of the lack of weeds.

  • I'd say the clarity is about 1-3 feet and greenish.

  • What is the water clarity at Spy Pond ?

  • there's nothing to blow up at spy. it's probably the most public, most accessible place in the area. and i honestly don't think i'll be going back any time soon.

  • You name it. Sam blows it up
