  • There is a place to park right off of Columbia pike. There is a park made up of walking trails that wind with the creek.

  • This is close! but where do you park?

  • Sorry, here is the correct comment. Holmes run is runoff from Lake Barcroft close to Bailys Crossroads. An unusual place for trout. I've been there only once. I was very skeptical when I entered the creek. I've never seen so much (metal) rebar in one place before. Though the creek was in a valley that was picturesque. Initially, every cast of my dry fly brought in a tiny bluegill which became an annoyance. So I put on a beaded nymph and immediately pulled out a 12" rainbow. I then walked towards the dam and within 2 hrs, caught 5 - 12" rainbow trout. I was shocked.

  • Holmes Run is a small creek that runs through a farm field. The fish are easily spooked since there is little cover on the banks. If you go on a Friday or weekend, be prepared to fight the crowds. This is regularly stocked by VDGIF. There are also 15"+ largemouth bass in there.
