Gibbs Lake is a beautiful quality trout water located within a large holding by Jefferson County Parks. Gibbs receives spring and fall plants of one pound Rainbow Trout and some Coastal Cutthroat Trout broodstock as well. It is a great water for a float tube.
In recent years there is a potential for the lake to be closed to access due to toxic algae blooms. This generally occurs during late spring and/or summer months. Prior to recreating in or at Gibbs Lake an individual should consult this website (http://jeffersoncountypublichealth.org/index.php?gibbs-lake-closure) to determine if there are any restrictions on recreating.
