This Gentle Giant was a surprise while slip floating for Yellow Perch on a New Jersey cold December Eve in 2012.Took a 16th oz. Marabou Jig tipped with a mealworm .A fine battle on 4# test and a limber 8' 'Slab Seeker ' rod .

On my last fishing trip 2 weeks ago I caught a 6 pound channel cat on my 5/6 weight fly rod while fishing for sunfish for flathead bait. I was using a small red wet fly with a small piece of squid tentacle on the hook as dressing. Took about 10 minutes to boat it. Great fun! |

Yes the r pretty much the same what I look for for big flats and blues is find water about 12 to 14 feet deep that is where the ph changes and if you can add some over head power lines into that u should do pretty good . Also the only bait I use for cats is what I catch in my casting net med to small use them whole big ones use as cut bait.
